The Sunshine Blogger Quiz is a blog tag, so officially I should have been tagged, but since I’m new and nobody knows me, I decided to tag myself. I’m probably supposed to tag other people, but that feels kind of spammy, so if you read this and want to play, feel free.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be an author. As a child, I loved reading fantasy – Tolkien, Eddings, McCaffrey – and that love has continued into adulthood. I love having a new world to explore, which is the same thing I adore about sci fi, and I always dreamt of creating something along the lines of Middle Earth. Paradoxically, the books I did get published are sci fi and the closest I got to fantasy was paranormal.
How did you meet your partner?
We met at college. We were on the same course and he always says that the first thing he noticed was my backside.
What scares you the most?
Death. It’s such a great unknown. It started after I had my first child, because I was scared of leaving her without a mother, and I think it’s mostly still that worry.
What is your must eat comfort food?
Nothing beats chicken soup when you’re sick! Otherwise, you’ll get on my good side with a sponge pudding and custard.
When enjoying a cream scone, do you put jam or cream first?
Jam, duh. How is this even a question?
What would you most like to receive as a gift for your birthday?
Oh gosh! *thinks* I’d like a day out somewhere I love, with dinner and wine.
Are you a stationery lover or a technology fan?
I’m a tech girl. I do love stationary but I get tendonitis in my right wrist which makes writing longhand difficult. That stole the joy from it, and now the most I write is filling out forms.
What’s your favourite childhood memory?
Coming home from horse riding to find a cardboard box on one of the dining chairs. My Dad got me to open it, and found a kitten! I named her Sally and she was a lovely tabby and we were inseparable.
If you had an extra hour each day, what would you do with it?
Crochet or sleep. Gosh that sounds so boring! But it’s true.
What film can you watch time and time again and never get sick of it?
I have several. The Last Starfighter, Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, Shaun of the Dead, Galaxy Quest. Yes, they are a little varied! I’m fairly eclectic in my film tastes.
